John W. Fisher earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Washington University in 1956, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University in 1958 and 1964.
Dr. Fisher has been honored for outstanding research in the fatigue and fracture of steel, and for practical applications to structural design. Dr. Fisher was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1986.
