Worst Case Scenario Performer

Position Description:

The Franklin Institute is looking for energetic performers for our newest exhibit, Worst Case Scenario. Based on the “Worst Case Scenario” books, this exhibit will walk guests through some challenging scenarios and test their resolve. The “Worst Case Scenario” Instructor will be helping and giving vital information to the exhibit’s guests on how to best survive unfortunate scenarios (i.e. avalanches, quicksand, and animal attacks). 

We are looking for performers with high-energy, big personalities, and the ability to hold a group captive. This role requires someone with comedic skills who can read an audience and has the ability to improvise with guests.  We are looking for reliable performers with initiative who can work with little supervision, customer service skills, and commit to at least 20 hours a week for the six-month run of the exhibit.

Position Requirements

  • Experience in theatrical performance and “improv” 
  • Strong physical performance skills and vocal quality 
  • Comfort performing in front of large groups 
  • Able to take initiative and engage groups of people 
  • High energy entertainment experience; experience delivering high energy, fun performances
  • Excellent customer service experience 
  • Previous experience in education and visitor services in an attraction setting preferred 
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, climbing and moving through physical exhibit elements
