On Monday, May 23, The Franklin Institute hosted nearly 100 guests at a private reception during its monthly Science After Hours event. They rode the SkyBike high across Bartol Atrium and experimented with liquid nitrogen. They ate, drank, and mingled. The cause for celebration? To welcome new and potential members to the Institute’s newest membership group: The Innovators. This is a group of motivated young leaders and dynamic individuals who value the important roles science and technology play in shaping the world we live in.
This gathering of 21–40 year olds not only provided a fun time, but also an opportunity for young movers and shakers to connect with others who recognize the importance of math and science in our daily lives. Collaboration is key to innovation and, in supporting the leaders of tomorrow, the Institute values bolstering these relationships. Of this new circle, guest Stephanie Espie said, “Growing up, I loved math but never knew the possibilities of a career using these concepts. STEM education opens up these ideas and careers to the next generation. The Innovators program at The Franklin Institute helps support the mission of giving children access to learn more about all things STEM.”
The Franklin Institute is excited to offer this new level of membership. For more information, contact Meghan Bachman at 215.448.1377 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
