Excited Electrons—campers entering grades 7-9—will dive deep into tech-based maker and tinkering projects every morning using cutting-edge technology like 3D printing and visual programming to reach new heights with their innovative thinking, collaboration, and creativity! Afternoons will be spent sparking curiosity with theme-based activities and exhibit exploration.

    What makes a theme park ride thrilling? Explore the laws of motion and use the principles of physics to create amazing amusements that mix recycled materials with tech-based tools like electronic circuits or 3D printing.

    You are hereby invited to The Franklin Institute School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Invent potent potions, colorful cloaks, and other wizarding tools through the power of chemistry, programmable textiles, and more.

    Mission: Space

    Someday, living and working in space will require all astronauts to be makers too. Prepare for a mission to space by engineering spacecraft, 3D printing parts, or designing a game to occupy your long days aboard the space station.

    Robot Shop  

    Prepare to have your circuits blown in this coding and computers camp! Become masters of the robot shop as you control your bots with block-based programming and engineer some inventions of your own.

    Forensic science is about seeing what can’t be seen. Campers will examine evidence with forensic science techniques, then work together to model and create their own camp crime scene for younger campers to investigate.

  • Each year Discovery Camp offers scholarships for excellence in academics and leadership, as well as for those who are in need of financial assistance. Our goal is to provide children who express an interest in science an opportunity to attend a session of our summer day camp. Each scholarship awarded will cover one (1) week of Discovery Camp in 2018.
