Special Programs Educator

Unscheduled part-time; shifts open as events are scheduled

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in education or science. Comfortable with public speaking. Able to work with diverse audiences. Enthusiasm for science and technology, and interest in presenting science programs to diverse museum guests. Bilingual is desirable. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Special Programs Educators will present activities for internal and external events requesting education programs such as Science After Hours, Night Skies in the Observatory, Community Night, and special weekend and holiday programming. Educators will be expected to work with a diverse audience, present hands-on science activities, work with fellow educators in presenting programs, and take direction as needed. Educators will be expected to follow through on time commitments for scheduled shifts and events, and ensure all tasks of set-up, presenting, and clean-up are completed.
