Museum of the Moon
November 30, 2019 – January 5, 2020
Benjamin Franklin National Memorial
Wonder at the majesty of the moon brought down to Earth. Suspended in the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial, Museum of the Moon is a photorealistic sculpture of the moon—measuring 23 feet in diameter and featuring high-resolution NASA imagery of the lunar surface that shows every cliff and crater.
*The Memorial is open to the public at all times when The Franklin Institute is open and no admission fee is required. If you would like to visit the museum’s permanent exhibits and experiences please click below to purchase general admission tickets.
Created by UK artist Luke Jerram, Museum of the Moon is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and musical composition that encourages surprising, intimate connections between the astronomical world and fellow observers.
