  • How can I purchase tickets?

    Can I gift tickets to someone? How do I choose a date and time? 
    Gift certificates are available for purchase here and can be printed or emailed to the recipient.  Gift certificates must be redeemed by phone at 215.448.1200, at which time the recipient can select their preferred visit date and time.  

    Is admission for young children free?
    Everyone ages 3 years + needs a ticket to enter the exhibition, however children ages 2 years and younger are free.

    Why do I have to choose a time to enter the exhibition?
    Tickets are sold in half-hour windows to manage capacity, giving guests an optimal experience. Only ticket holders for the given time slot can enter. There is no need to arrive early at the exhibit entrance, as it may take the entire time slot to check all guests into the exhibition.

    What if I miss my time slot?
    Guests who miss their time slot will be rescheduled to enter at the next available entry time. 

    My timeslot is for 3:00 pm, can I arrive before then to walk around the museum.
    Absolutely. Guests who would like to experience the rest of the museum before entering the exhibition may arrive two hours before their scheduled time.  Please note that the museum opens at 9:30 am, and guests will only be able to enter the exhibition at their reserved time.

    Are evening and daytime tickets sold out? The website will only allow me to purchase VIP tickets.
    Some dates are selling out, but not all dates. Please search for open availability throughout the run of the exhibition.

    I already bought my ticket. Can I upgrade to VIP?
    Please call our guest experiences center at 215.448.1200.

    Are VIP tickets good for any day or time?
    No. VIP tickets are valid for a flexible entrance time on a given day the VIP tickets were purchased for.

    Is the audio tour available to purchase without buying a VIP ticket?
    Yes, the audio tour will be available for purchase onsite during your visit. 

    How much is the photo op and audio tour? How much are they with the VIP ticket?
    Pricing is not yet available for both the photo op and audio tour.  VIP ticket holders receive a 10% discount on these options.

    Will there be a separate VIP line?
    No. VIP ticket holders may enter at any time during hours of operation on the day of their ticket using the main exhibition entrance.

  • Can I bring food into the exhibition? 
    Eating and drinking are prohibited within the exhibition, however there are designated areas to eat within the museum. 

    Is photography allowed? 
    Non-professional point and shoot or phone cameras are allowed in the exhibition.  No flash. A camera is considered professional if it has a removable lens.  Video recording is prohibited.

    How long can I stay in the exhibition?
    The exhibition is self-guided, we expect guests will spend 60-90 minutes exploring.

    Where is the exhibition located?
    The exhibition will be at The Franklin Institute, located at 222 North 20th Street Philadelphia, PA 19103.
    The GPS address to the parking garage is 271 North 21st Street Philadelphia, PA 19103.

    Is there an exhibition shop?
    Yes.

    Can the exhibition accommodate guests who require special access?
    Yes.
