Admission to The Franklin Institute includes access to three floors of hands-on science exhibits and experiences. Explore permanent interactive exhibits, attend live science programs, and watch a show in the Fels Planetarium. Groups of 15 or more are eligible for discounts.

General Museum Hours
The Franklin Institute is open daily from 9:30 am to 5 pm.

The Franklin Institute is closed November 23, December 24-25, and January 1, 2024.

Important Exhibit Updates: 

  • Changing Earth and Space Command are now closed for the installation of Wondrous Space, opening on November 4, 2023. Learn more about the all-new two-story exhibit here.   
  • The Train Factory is closed for renovations to expand and transform the gallery into a curatorial showcase. Learn more about the upcoming Treasures of the Franklin Institute Gallery, opening in the fall of 2024, here.

Stroller Policy

Strollers are welcome in the museum. However, large toddler carriers, double-sided strollers, and jogging strollers are not allowed in special exhibition galleries due to space constraints.

Look up and see what the actual night sky would look like without the interference of weather, pollution, or city lights. The immensity and clarity of the view create a sense of wonder and stimulate the imagination. Engaging shows and immersive visuals and sound educate young and old alike about astronomy and our place in the universe.
