Discovery Camp Counselor

Minimum Qualifications: 
Counselors must have at least a High School degree and be furthering their education in a science, psychology, or education field.  Previous experience working with children, presenting to large groups, and a proven record of responsibility are a must.  Previous experience in a camp setting or other informal education setting is preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 
Discovery Camp Counselors will deliver an experience that inspires curiosity and passion for STEM learning by leading a classroom of 10-25 campers ages 4-14. Counselors take part in all daily camp operations including maintaining the safety and well-being of all children, presenting informal science activities, facilitating exhibit exploration, supervising outdoor play and walking or bussed field trips, and managing classroom supplies and equipment. Counselors should foster openness to working with diverse children and peers, good communication with peers, administrators, and parents, great team-working skills, and responsible decision-making skills and proactivity.

Counselors work 40 hrs/wk, Monday-Friday, during the camp season.
