The Franklin Institute

Shanna Caster

After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry at Penn State in 2010, Shanna planned to continue her education in a PhD program, but found the lab too isolating. Searching for an alternative outlet for her insatiable hunger for learning and her passion for people, she began volunteering as a Science Presenter at the Franklin Institute in 2011. Soon thereafter she was hired as a Science Interpreter, delivering live science shows and demonstrations for school groups and the public. After more than seven years, she still calls The Franklin Institute home, and hopes that every day her work will help to support the mission to inspire a passion for learning about science and technology.
