Director of Advanced Analytics and Data Services

The Franklin Institute, the most visited museum in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, seeks a highly experienced thought leader in Big Data, Data Analytics and Data Platforms with a proven track record for building and implementing data strategies and analytic platforms. The Director of Advanced Analytics and Data Services is responsible for the strategic vision and implementation of such strategy to support The Franklin Institute Business Intelligence, Big Data and Advance Analytics needs. Working with the business units and IT analytics team, this role will establish and operationalize The Franklin Institutes enterprise data and analytical technology capabilities to achieve a fully integrated digital information and intelligence eco-system. The Director will set the technical direction of the data platforms, drive innovation, and provide operational leadership of the enterprise analytics, intelligence and data science platforms and services. This new position to the Institute will manage a team of two resources: the Senior SQL DBA and the Senior IT Business Analyst. Together, this team will gain an in-depth understanding of the Institute’s business strategy, initiatives, processes, services and strategic plan. 

Requires Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT related field or relevant industry experience plus 7-10 years’ experience with business analysis for full life cycle of services, and have led Big Data solutions in complex data science efforts. Proven experience in quantitative analytics (marketing analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, digital attribution, forecasting, optimization and predicative analytics). Highly self-motivated and directed with an eagerness to learn new skill sets and apply them towards project and team success. Fluent with sophisticated data visualization tools. Demonstration of cultural competence to work across lines of business and differences. Exceptional written, visual presentation and oral communication; interviewing, facilitation, listening and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Understanding of Google Analytics, Point of Sale and transactional systems, CRM, Finance, workflow automation, lead/opportunity management, data quality, event management, customer service, and web site lifecycles.
