SCIENCE CONCEPT:
History keeps the record of how man unraveled the mysteries of natural flight and the forces on Earth that make mechanical flight possible.
TEACHER TEXT:
From the beginning of history we have been fascinated by flight. Aeronautics, the science of flight, is based on precise mathematical principles. Aeronautics took many centuries to develop. Throughout this period there was an accumulation of knowledge. Individuals persisted in attaining their dream of flight by studying the flyers in nature and by persistent hard work in modeling these natural flyers.
STUDENT OBJECTIVE:
The student will be able to act out a word to illustrate the definition of selected vocabulary words or the word itself.
OVERVIEW:
The student will demonstrate an understanding of history of flight. By working with vocabulary words, the student can begin to get a foundation for future readings and research about flight.
PREPARATION TIME:
20 minutes.
LESSON TIME:
20 minutes.
TEACHER PREP:
Gather materials and prepare the index cards.
