Science Fair Workshops

During the school year, Saturday morning hands-on science workshops are held two times a month on the second and third Saturday of each month at The Franklin Institute. There is no charge for the Saturday workshops. Workshop students are range from ages 11-16 and work in small teams on specific research oriented projects, with the goal of entering regional science fair competitions in the spring. Teams are paired with a PACTS Explainer to assist with the recording of their research, and provide a peer leadership experience. The students have access to various resources within and around the museum.

The Science Fair workshop provides an opportunity for students to engage in hands-on research and develops their researching skills. The research is structured to provide a fun learning experience. Students also attend field trips and visits from special guest to broaden their research techniques.
