The PACTS program is open to students in grades seven through eleven in the Philadelphia Metro area. PACTS provides hands-on science workshops, career guidance, trips, and special training to students who participate in the program. Students are also introduced to adult mentors from all types of career background to assist in the development and growth of the youth in the program.

PACTS full-time staff are seasoned science education and youth program professionals. In addition, many former PACTS students volunteer or work part-time in the program. Mentors are adult professionals who volunteer their time to join students in their research, provide positive role models, and offer sound advice on life issues.

For further information about the program, or if you would like to get involved, please contact us at 215-448-1399 or email at mburch@fi.edu.

The success of PACTS and PEERS would not have been possible without the collaboration and support of the following: the Fairmount Park Commission; the School District of Philadelphia; and Zion Baptist Church in Ardmore, PA.

PEERS has been made possible by support from the National Science Foundation and Unisys.

Ongoing funding for PACTS has been provided by Unisys Corporation, Glaxo SmithKline, the Lindback Foundation, the William M. King Charitable Foundation, and Ardmore Affordable Housing.
