The Bible says that God took a piece of clay and breathed life into it.
Today we know that clay and other silicate materials can have active surfaces that can catalyse the conversion of simple molecules ino complex ones.
Thus the very earliest building blocks of life could have been produced in this manner, so the biblical account is not necessarily contrary to the scientific reality.
The question as to whether biblical accounts or scientific theories are closer to the truth becomes irrelevant. One can accept that God created life, the scientific question is "how was it done". I prefer to believe in a living God who would delight in His children asking such questions.
Once certain relatively simple types of organic molecules have been produced, we have observed in the laboratory that they can self assemble, and under the right conditions even reproduce themselves. God would have known this also.
It troubles me to see minds closed to the probability that God encourages us to explore our world. Surely, as the great Artist, He would be as devastated as a mere human artist if we chose to not to explore His work.
