The Modern Indian School Of Kuwait

Of all the wonders of the universe the most
fascinating are the living beings themselves.
People perhaps wonder how life began on this
earth. What did the first organisam look like?
Where did they live and etc.We can think of
various possible ways by which the life could
have started on earth. Some of the possibilities
are:1.Living things could have always existed
on earth 2.They could have even come from another
planet, but the two,do not meet the questions
and the curiosity of many of the scientists.

Scientists all over the world now beleive
that hundreds and million of years ago when
earth was a hot molten ball, life was never
possible on the planet.Slowly and gradually
the earth cooled and as it cooled there were
continious rains, which washed the hot surface
of the earth and the water collected in lakes
and oceans. The atmosphere at that time was
 extremly different.Some of the scientists
admit that there was no oxygen. The sea was a
boiling mass consisting of water ,minerals,
gases etc. There were violent storms accomp-
lished by lightning. The temprature at that
time was very high,it was then, under such
conditions that the first living substance
 called the PROTOPLAM was formed.This
 protoplasm,in course of time,formed a membrane
around itself and the first living CELL
 appeared in sea.

These minute single celled organisams derived
their food from the chemicals present in the
sea.As these chemicals began to parish, these
organisams started making their own food with
the help of a pigment called CHLOROPHYLL,or-
ganisams which could not make their own food
 started eating these organisams.These cells
later developed into higher animals and the
green cell into higher plants. The green plants
migrated to the land followed by other organi-
sams for food. This is how life started from
the sea and came to land afterwards.

From about five billion years ago till today,
life has been present on this earth and will
continue with the genarations to come
