I know you probably wanted High Schoolers, but : I find it sad to see that so many kids growing up today know so little about science that they would assume that there is a God of the kind described by organized religions like Christianity. Evolution is not a "theory" in the sense that it is unproven, for there is an abundance of evidence for evolution in terms of the DNA, fossil, and radio-dating measurements as well as the theory and experiments of Oparin, Urey, and Miller. Assertions that there are "no transitional fossils" or that the Bible is utter fact are simply uninformed opinions. If you want some real facts, go to www.talkorigins.org. One fact that should be cleared up now - people who assume that complicated systems arising from very simple starting ingredients don't recognize that in the primitive earth we didn't have to go straight from water, hydrogen, ammonia, and methane to humans. There were many, many intermediate steps, and the most important first ones have been replicated in the laboratory. What will convince you people? Put down your Bibles, just for a second, and question things for a change. Don't just accept that "God" created the universe - for then what created God? If you say that God always existed, then I can just say that the universe always existed. Read some science that is NOT written by Christian propagandists masquerading as scientists. |
