Watershed and Water Testing

Decatur Elementary School
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Students
Let the water testing begin!

We will experience a variety of activities that will lead to an understanding of "watershed" and, finally, water testing. The activities will include some from "Living in Water" (an aquatic science curriculum from the National Aquarium in Baltimore). The water testing will be done at the Poquessing tributary across the street from Decatur. The children will be using LaMotte water testing kits. We will be feeding our results to other schools to compare information about other watersheds and our own. We will be using telecommunications to transmit information to other schools.
