Heart Doctors

A doctor who specializes in preventing and treating heart disease is known as a cardiologist. Before you can become a cardiologist, you first have to spend many years studying and learning about how the heart works. Today, since heart disease is the number one killer in the United States, cardiologists have a lot to do. One important part of the job is to educate people about heart disease. In order to stop death from heart disease, people need to learn how to live with a healthy heart.

Of course, you don't have to be a cardiologist to help people learn about healthy heart habits. For instance, Doctor Joel Posner is a doctor who specializes in health and fitness for the heart. Doctor Posner lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also hosts a weekly call-in radio program to answer questions about heart fitness. Through education, Dr. Posner helps to prevent heart disease, so that his patients won't need to see a cardiologist.
