Start the 2013 National Boy Scout Jamboree with an Overnight Adventure at The Franklin Institute!


Why stay overnight in a hotel on your way to The 2013 National Boy Scout Jamboree when you can spend a night camping at The Franklin Institute—Pennsylvania's premier hands-on science center! Your Troop will dive into Astronomy during these special overnight Camp-In programs designed exclusively for Boy Scouts—earning partial requirements for a merit badge in Astronomy.

BSA-registered merit badge counselors will be available to sign "blue cards," so that everyone can leave the experience with a valid "partial" for Astronomy.

Merit Badge: Boy Scouts will fulfill partial requirements for their merit badge in Astronomy with the help of a merit badge counselor.

  • Rooftop stargazing with our 10-inch Zeiss refractor l telescope in the Joel N. Bloom Observatory. (weather permitting)

  • Access to The Franklin Institute's core exhibits—like Electricity, Changing Earth, Sir Isaac's Loft, and Sports Challenge.

Tour bus parking is managed through the City of Philadelphia.s Callowhill Street parking center at a cost of $30/night per tour bus.
