Resurrection of Our Lord Fifth Grade
ENERGY OVERLOAD

Objectives:

·        Launch our energy unit with a hands-on museum experience

·        Facilitate the use of student inquiry to drive science lessons

·        Identify the different forms of energy

·        Distinguish between potential and kinetic energy

·        Experiment and explore with different forms of energy (developed from student interest sheets)

·        Discuss concept of energy conservation and ways we can help conserve

The project with the Franklin Institute was the perfect opportunity to expand our energy unit and incorporate inquiry experiences into the classroom.  Learning how to incorporate an informative museum trip dealing with classroom experiences is well worth any teacher’s time.
