GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF MY UNIT:
My students and I had a lot of fun working on our unit on electricity.
I wanted to expand their understanding of electricity through investigations
with wires, batteries, bulbs, and switches. I was lucky to be a participant
in a program provided by The Franklin Institute called "Inquiry in the
Museum in the Classroom and on the Web." Through this program I was
able to take my class to The Franklin Institute. It was there that I was
able to culminate my unit and expand the understanding of my students'
concepts. Students were able to learn more about Benjamin Franklin
and make connections to what they learned in the classroom.
To do this unit I primarily worked with the STC's Electric Circuit kits.
I love working with these kits because they are teacher friendly.
