“Do
Athletes Use Force & Motion?”

EXPERIENCE - This
fourth grade class cut out pictures of athletes from the “Sports Illustrated”
magazine. Using prior knowledge, they were asked to write down what elements of
force and motion they thought were being used. The students were asked to write
down any questions they had about the athletes use of
force and motion. This information was posted on their KWL
worksheet (click to view KWL worksheet). Hands-on activities
promote inquiry. The children had fun experimenting with elements of FORCE & MOTION.
