STUDENT ACCESS PROGRAM

Student Access Program

NOW ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS FOR THE 2014/2015 SCHOOL YEAR!

Field trips are unique experiences that can bring to life concepts and ideas taught in the classroom. Here at The Franklin Institute, we realize that not every school has the resources for a field trip to the museum and proudly offer our Student Access Program to assist with access to the museum.

While all schools receive reduced admission, the Student Access Program provides eligible schools free visits to the museum.

How To Apply

To qualify for the Student Access Program, schools must meet two criteria:
- Be classified as Title 1
- Have at least fifty percent or more of students receiving reduced/free lunch

If your school meets the criteria, you must complete an Eligibility Form, along with a Visit Request Form in order to schedule your free visit.

Forms may be submitted one of three ways:
BY EMAIL: reservations@fi.edu
BY FAX: 215.448.1235
BY MAIL: ATTN: Group Sales, The Franklin Institute, 222 N 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Visit Guidelines

2013/2014 School Year
Free Visit Requests are no longer being accepted for the 2013/2014 School Year.
If you still wish to visit with us this school year, a special discounted rate is available. Please contact us for details.

2014/2015 School Year
Free visits are available on a limited basis. Secure your group's spot now by making a reservation for the upcoming school year! Confirmation of your date will be provided within 48 hours of submitting your request.

Free visit admission is available September through January on Monday or Tuesday only. There are several dates during the 2014/2015 school year on which free visits are not permitted:
- 2014: October 13, November 4 and 11
- 2015: January 19
Availability is subject to change.

Free admission will be given to all group members and will include access to the museum's exhibits. Additional programs such as special exhibits, workshops, and theater programs are available at a discounted rate. A listing of programs and rates will be available in July 2014.

Groups that plan to eat lunch on-site must reserve a brown bag lunchroom. A $25.00 fee applies for groups of 15-150 people; fee doubles for groups over 151 people.

All school groups are required to have 1 chaperone for every 10 youth. We recommend 1 chaperone for every 5 youth to allow for the best experience!
