Dear Supporters,
On behalf of everyone at The Franklin Institute, many thanks for supporting the 2013 Awards Ceremony and Dinner. We hope that you enjoyed celebrating the triumphs of our renowned Laureates as much as we did.
Through recognition of forward-thinkers like Michael Dell and Kenichi Iga among many others, The Franklin Institute Awards Ceremony and Dinner continues its tradition of honoring distinguished scientists and entrepreneurs while bringing the importance of science and innovation to the forefront of the community's awareness. We are thrilled that you were able to attend this year's event and hope that you were also able to attend some of the other Awards Week activities, which provide additional opportunities to interact with our Award-winners through engaging workshops and lectures. Thanks to your support, events like these shed much needed light on the relevance and global impact of science today.
We kindly ask that you mark April 24, 2014 on your calendar for next year's Awards Ceremony and Dinner. Thank you again for your generous support and we hope to see you in April if not sooner.
Warmest regards,
Eliana Papadakis

As one of the oldest, most prestigious, and comprehensive science and technology awards programs in the world, The Franklin Institute Awards Program has honored thousands of scientists, engineers, inventors and entrepreneurs since its inception in 1824. Previous Franklin Institute Laureates include luminaries such as Marie and Pierre Curie, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, Enrico Fermi, Stephen Hawking, Steven Squyres, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Bill Gates.
The program includes the Benjamin Franklin Medals in six fields of science and engineering, supported by 20 endowed funds, and the Bower Awards for Achievement in Science and Business Leadership, made possible by a bequest by the late Philadelphia chemical manufacturer Henry Bower. The Bower Award for Achievement in Science includes a $250,000 prize, one of the most significant scientific prizes in America. Please visit www.fi.edu/franklinawards to learn about this year's Laureates.
The Franklin Institute Awards Program is a fundamental part of the Institute's mission to inspire a passion for learning about science and technology. By celebrating outstanding achievements, the Awards Program highlights the remarkable promise of science and technology. Moreover, every dollar raised through the Awards Ceremony and Dinner underwrites the Institute's efforts to make science and technology accessible and fun for nearly 250,000 schoolchildren who visit The Franklin Institute each year.
