• Museum admission featuring the traveling exhibit, Design Zone
• A hands-on math workshop

$12.00 per student; free for chaperones.
Minimum 15 students. Allow 3.5-4 hours.

Design Zone

Behind every dance mix, there’s a beat, and behind every thrill ride, there’s velocity. Design is everywhere we look and in everything we do – and math is behind it all! Design Zone uses hands-on activities to show how design concepts become real world experiences in the arts, entertainment and extreme sports. Students will go behind the scenes and create their own dance beat, rollercoaster, skate park, video game and more.

Melody of Math Workshop

Customized for Grades 3-5 and 6-8

Math is a language we speak every day, whether we realize it or not. This fun, hands-on workshop package offers a nontraditional, experiential approach to math, where students will find the connection between mathematical thinking and the creative process of music. Participants will manipulate instruments, view visualization software and learn the basics of graphs and measurement as they work together to complete a musical challenge. The math exploration then continues in an exhibit experience, enabling students to become active participants in using tools to discover mathematical concepts like patterns, scale, prediction and data analysis.
