Your Own Flight
Thinking about Weight and Gravity

Teachers' notes

The pull of the Earth's gravity keeps us on the ground. The Earth is massive, so the pull of its gravity is strong.

  • Show a friend: What would it be like to move around, if the Earth's gravity were twice as strong?
The Moon is much smaller than the Earth.
  • Explain to a friend: What would it be like to walk on the Moon?
The pull of the Earth's gravity makes you heavy - its force on you is called your weight.
  • Use your imagination: What would it be like if the Earth had no gravity?
