Benjamin Franklin's words have never been more true. This is frustrating. It will hurt. There will be no tolerance for whining.
So, what is this? Are we going to learn about mnemonics? Science? History? Ben, himself? Ourselves?
Yes. Yes. No. No. You betcha!
Do show persistence. All is not what it appears and those who are obstinate just may . . . well, we will come back to that.
Mnemonic
A mnemonic is a device used for memorizing a set of directions. For instance, if you wanted to recall the order of the nine planets of our solar system, you may employ the mnemonic: My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas. Of course, the first letter of each word in the previous sentence (mnemonic) represents a planet in our solar system: My = Mercury, Very = Venus, etc. Way cool!
Mathematics
Mathematics is a tool. Sure we study it. And it can be difficult. But we study how to use a lock and a soccer ball. It is the same thing, but a little more fun. Yes, I said fun. Mathematics helps solve puzzles! Without it, all of the fun that puzzles bring to us would be lost. Now that would be a tragedy.
Science
Science is a subject. It is the study of the physical world around us. The physical world is comprised of all of the things that are tangible. Science can't explain why we are here, but can explain what is here. Do not think too hard about that yet; your mind might begin to hurt.
If you are intrigued or just plain curious, continue . . .
