    • Join us on a trek through the universe as we explore the wonders of space! Our three grade six classes were divided into six teams. Two activities were set up in each of the three classrooms and two teams visited each classroom over a 6 day period. Take your pick of Space Centers . . .


    Rockets

    Create rockets with your students to demonstrate the mechanics of rocket propulsion. We conducted our experiments based on: The Space Place Launch Pad. Students create Pop Rockets that really work!

     Create a Space Shuttle

    Students follow directions to assemble a space shuttle. Download the Space Shuttle Glider Kit from: NASA Space Link.


     Space Art: Pointillism

    Watch your students' creativity soar as they experiment with pointillism! Using an 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of white paper, invite your students to draw a large but simple space shape (e.g. comet, space ship, star) and fill in the shape with points using various colours.


     Man in the Moon Art Activity

    Try this fabulous Art activity: Man in the Moon with Two Faces (with or without a computer!)


     Space Game Boards

    Students design a gameboard based upon information that they have gained throughout the Space unit.
