Creating Awareness Can be Fun

1.Plan with students to do a variety of activities to help school mates and community members learn more about the Florida Scrub Jay.

Consider creating posters, banners, brochures, articles for school or class newsletters, signs, community TV or radio announcements or any other form of public awareness which might be appropriate for your situation and your group.

2.Consider hosting a contest.

Perhaps a contest for others to suggest a catchy jingle, title for a poster, poster about the scrub jay or a drawing of the scrub which could be used in your written pieces might be the focus of a contest which your class could host. Students could be the judges or could elicit judges from school staff or community members. The PTO or a local business might consider sponsoring the contest and offering a prize to the winners.
