Volcano Making

 

Here are some volcanoes that we made ourselves. Click the small pictures to see the bigger pictures.

We were making the model volcanoes. (The cards you see in the background were used to simulate an earthquake.)

Here is our finished model. Can you see the vinegar and baking soda sitting near by?

Here it is erupting.

This is another volcano. It was bigger. We took a liter soda bottle and put it in a bucket. Then we put soil all around. This represents a large pocket of magma.

Here we are adding baking soda mixed with warm water to the "volcano".

Here goes the vinegar! We mixed food coloring with the vinegar.

ERUPTION! (Do you notice how we always have these volcanoes sitting in a collection pan?)
