How do different people look at things? Do they see the same thing when they look at the same thing? Students in Mrs. Seamster's class explored this concept with rocks, and here are their guesses about how some people might see rocks.

Artists:

  • They would look at rocks as beauty.
  • They would try to look for the beauty of the rock.
  • Rocks are made of color which brings out the beauty, shape which brings out the height and length plus the pattern of the formation.
  • They would draw and paint it.

Geologists:

  • They would look at rocks for studying and wanting to learn a lot about them.
  • They would be looking for what the rocks are made of
  • Rocks are things that are full of minerals that are very delicate and most of them, especially mica, need to be supported and taken care of.
  • They would probably study it and look at it in many different ways.

Gem merchants:

  • They would look at rocks to see what king of gems are in them.
  • They would be looking for the value
  • Rocks are parts of beauty to our nation. All rocks should be treated the same and should be polished and worn for their beauty not to sit in dirt with insects and animals to harm them.
  • They would probably clean, study and sell the rocks that they find.
