They lived in the western United States (Wyoming, Idaho, and Nevada) among the valleys and mountains. The Shoshoni lived in two different types of houses. One was called a teepee and was made of animal hides and long sticks. Other Shoshoni people lived in different types of shelter.
The men wore loincloths made from animal skins. They also wore aprons made from rabbit and other fur.
The women taught girls home stuff like weaving and cooking. The men fished, hunted and taught the boys to hunt, fish, and survive through life.
They ate fish, wild sheep, antelope, squirrels, birds, buffalo,
roots, seeds, berries, grasshoppers and meat obtained by hunting and fishing.
