They lived in the desert of New Mexico in a little village in a town.  

 One day white men came.  The Indians told the white men what their house was called.  It was called a wickiup.  

 One day the Apache Indians killed some animal skin and made clothes.  
  
 The men killed animals, the women cooked and the children made things while their mother or father was doing something.  Apache girls picked plants, fruits, nuts, corn, pumpkins, squash, melons and chili peppers for their hungry tribe.  

 In 1870 the Americans had a war with the Apache Indians and the Americans won the war.  Now people took the Apache’s land and it is hard to believe it!
