Stationary Model Testing

The purpose of our testing an airfoil model in the wind tunnel was to determine the effects of different conditions and design changes. Each time you change the wind speed, the angle of attack, or the design of the wing, you introduce a new variable into your test sequence.

How did we test our stationary airfoil?

We first needed a way to record our data so we made a "Data Testing Sheet". It had everything we wanted to know.
Next we made sure we tested only one variable at a time.
Then we had to decide what to look for when testing our airfoil.

These things were:

(A)Air flow with the wing in normal flight position.

(B) Turbulence building as the angle of attack increases.

(C) The location or region where the turbulence first appears.
