Campers spend each fun-filled day exploring the Museum's iconic favorites and performing hands-on experiments with The Franklin Institute's trained counselors!
The Franklin Institute offers single day Discovery Camp sessions during Spring Break, Winter Break, and on certain days when schools are out. In the summer, we offer 11 weeks of camp sessions as part of our wildly popular Summer Camp.
Each camp day includes hands-on science activities and workshops, museum exploration, a snack, and a break for lunch. Campers may also have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers and see shows in the Fels Planetarium, Tuttleman IMAX® Theater, or Franklin 3D Theater shows, depending on the camp session.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
» All sessions run from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. Early arrival and late departure are available for an additional fee.
» Half day programs are available for Pre-K.
» Campers receive a daily snack, time for lunch, and all activity supplies. Summer campers also receive a Discovery Camp T-shirt and a weekly camp newsletter.
» Campers are encouraged to bring a packed lunch but may purchase lunch from the on-site Museum food service, Frog Commissary.
» Franklin Institute Members receive discounted Discovery Camp rates. CLICK HERE to learn more about Membership.
Classes are structured by grade level with our youngest campers having a specialized classroom space. Our highly trained camp staff includes Franklin Institute educators, local teachers, and college students interested in education and science fields, with support from our high school counselors-in-training and volunteers. We provide a 1:7 counselor-to-camper ratio.
